1. What This Website Is
This is a private reference resource with no government authority. It does not store official Calhoun County criminal records, retrieve a record, conduct an official check, certify a copy, or submit a filing for a visitor.
Its content routes readers to actual custodians, including the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office, Circuit Clerk, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency repository, and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Sex Offender Registry. The Alabama Open Records Act in Ala. Code §§ 36-12-40 and 36-12-41 concerns qualifying government writings and certified copies. Repository dissemination is separately controlled by Ala. Code § 41-9-590 et seq. Neither set of laws makes this private site an official custodian.

Code § 15-20A-8 warns that unlawful injury, harassment, or a crime directed at a listed person or anyone at a reported address may lead to civil or criminal penalties. Registry information supports lawful safety awareness, not vigilantism or retaliation.

Calhoun County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not create consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. Its content and any linked tool must not be used to:
